The way I remember my University campus .

It's been around four months ,since we are away from our workplace,  that could be our Office, shops, schools or universities. For an undergraduate student like me,  it's the beloved Campus of MIT - World Peace University.   Living In a hostel thats on-campus meant that our mornings started with the amazing view of quite the entire University,  with hills surrounding us from all the three sides, like nature's warm hug !  With minimum pollution and pleasant surroundings,   it's a good place to live and learn .

Right now , so many of us might miss college in the sense that they could be missing, spending time with frnds , regular lectures, canteen memories, roaming around new places , durga cafe, tea breaks and whatnot.  And apart from all these , the legendary landmarks of our campus - the Globe, the MIT gateway(Kaman) and the Shri Saint Dnyaneshwara World peace dome , all these visuals are largely missed.

Now when I think about the campus and all those 10 months that I lived there. Apart from the normal stuff and all the things mentioned above, some specific things that I remember and miss the most would be ;

Firstly the World Peace prayer, it's one of the many unique aspects of WPU. Every morning at sharp 8:25 am , the speakers of our campus would come to life with the playing of this 4.5 mins prayer. If you happen to be in or around the Peace Department, then you could hear it again at 10:45am. Hearing this is a peaceful and soothing experience . What a way to start the day!

Sitting on our main canteen's roof,  stargazing and wondering about space n time. Sinking deep in the thoughts of life, detaching oneself from the hazy world, it's just you and the starlit sky , a moment to breathe,  some mistakes to mortify.

Now Here's a special mention of Windy, A white Indian Pariah,  with semi- pricked ears. A part of my morning workout session was to play with Windy. All jumping and running,  round the abandoned, dew-decorated lawns of the campus...

Those who know me,  very well know my affection and Felicity for animals and dogs at large,  thus this was quite irresistible. Windy would undoubtedly relieve some amount of pain from my aching soul, as it missed Sammy with every passing moment.

Now comes all about hygge and time spent  with my friends and roomies. From wise unwanted discussions on any existing or fictional topic,sitting on the extended pavements of the footpath, and all those Kai Po Che moments. Going treking on a nearby hill. Or even a short post dinner walk with my roommates, to grab a dessert ,after a not so good dinner at the mess.

Then , there is this Basil plant, on the left staircase of the main canteen. Grabbing a few of its leaves every morning , washing them, and remembering our stone age men and their ways of life, as I would chew the holy leaves, throughout my way to SOD building. Some wordless conversations with my favorite on-campus plant - the Plumeria tree, situated at the backgate of the library. So fortunate to have a lush green , calm and peaceful campus.

Finding the best displacement paths. The crowded, confused canteens during lunchtime, that would cause you to remember the railway platforms of Mumbai. Walking on the pavements, mocking the empty road beside. Sitting on the backgate stairs of our central library. Settling near the Natraj statue in front  of Vivekananda auditorium, saving yourself from pigeon surprises. Tea treats and library visits.

Sundays were quite different, wondering what would be for lunch,  after an unwelcoming breakfast at the mess. Planning and debating about dinner , should we go out or order it, all these thoughts would consume the Sunday vibe. If you are going home that weekend,  then it's the most free spirited and an awaited one.

Living alone on campus, being aware of your savings and spendings , of not just money but also of time and resources . One has to be stubborn even if your are Sturmfrei. Managing your lifestyle and nurturing your abilities. Creating unforgettable moments and precious memories. A place where you shape yourself, where every new day has something more for you,  new adventures, newer amusements and newest avenues. Such is my Uni life.

Let's hope things get better ,  close to normal,  and we all get back on campus, very soon. Situations and schedules might not remain the same,  but nothing can change the vibe and the ebullience of MIT WPU.

The Chrysalism of living on-campus is Elysian.
