House of Wisdom

Grandparents, sweetest people, and wisest friends. So,  When was the last time you said Hello to them? If you live with them, wow you are soo lucky, if you are away from them, plan a night out at their home this weekend. Believe me that's the best vacation spot..to skip the chaos and breathe a blissful air.

Why so?  Well, they are the only people around, who are Not drenched in the desertous device called a mobile phone. They have stories and experiences of a lifetime and willingness to offer you all their intellectuality.

The main reason why I ask you to spend time with them is much more serious. We have our leisures and laurels, but for them, every day holds newer challenges.

Some might have impeding health conditions, they do sometimes feel isolated , maybe a storm of thoughts roaring in their head, as they sit there all alone , unturned wishes and regrets of unaccomplished aspirations, in such a caged state of mind, what they are looking forward to, is the endeavours of their children and grandchildren . Witnessing them pursue their dreams, hop to newer feats of achievements.  Witnessing as they bloom to life.... There is so much going on in their head, yet they are always quiet and composed. Some find shelter in god's recitations... Some build their small world weaved around the radio, newspaper, and a chunk of old friends.

The clock of life, keeps ticking for each of us, but old age is the phase , when you notice it the most, it is the time when you know, that your part in this worldly play, is about to get over,  the downing realizations that one day, you would cease to existence, frequently start occurring. Yet, they never lose hope and live life one day at a time.

Being younger and agile, it's time we get wiser too... Find some time, out of your mundane melodramatic life... Spend quality time with them... Show them newer stuff, tell them your stories, talk to them.... Praise them, show them your affection.  Ask them if they need anything, or just simply get them a favorite treat... Keep them happy, take their blessings, these blessings hold the power to change your destiny...these can shape your life...it's a pious thing.

Sometimes we might get annoyed, they might act childish, they might even scold you for no solid reason, but they have that right.... Perhaps sometimes all they need is your attention and company. Don't betray these signals, be with them, when they need you.

Because one day, they might no longer be around you, and the regrets and realizations that you 'could have done better..', are no less than stabs straight in the heart..

Get your heads out of your phone and that shitty social media, it's time to get social with your grandparents...if you can't do that, grab your keys and drive to an old age home. Spend some time there..  The joy and happiness you receive, and being in the glaze of these polished diamonds are the purest form of love and power in this whole wide world.
